Bio

Troy O. Claxton currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer in the Ministry of Health, Environment and Sustainability. He is a Caymanian Fellow Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA), with over 20 years of post-qualification professional experience in senior management roles, across both the public service and private sector. Notably, he has proudly served the Cayman Islands in various leadership roles for over 17 years.

Previously, Mr. Claxton served as Financial Controller (Head of Accounting) for multiple Cayman Islands Statutory Authorities and Government Companies from 2008 to 2018. In recognition of his work with and commitment to assisting those Statutory Authorities and Government Companies with achieving unqualified audit reports, he received an award in 2018 from the Public Accounts Committee at the Parliament (formerly the Legislative Assembly), on behalf of those entities.

Mr. Claxton holds a B.Sc. (Hons) degree in Accountancy and completed his professional studies at Kaplan Financial in the United Kingdom, one of the premier accountancy training providers in the United Kingdom and globally.

He has extensive expertise and experience in the areas of accounting, finance, audit, compliance, and corporate governance. Mr. Claxton also serves as a Notary Public of the Cayman Islands, further contributing to the Cayman Islands community since 2021.

He has been a member in good standing of both the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA-UK) and the Cayman Islands Institute of Professional Accountants (CIIPA) for over 15 years. 

Mr. Claxton continues to exemplify professional excellence, uphold the highest ethical standards, and demonstrate an enduring commitment to public service in the Cayman Islands.
